Exp takes home Marketing Services Agency of the year awards at ADReview 2009
24 April 2009
Exp Sponsorship scooped the prestigious Marketing Services Agency of the Year award at the 2009 AdReview Night of the Stars event on 23 April.
The glamourous black tie awards ceremony was held at the Theatre on the Track in Kyalami and attracted the cream of South Africa’s advertising crop.
Exp South Africa CEO Justin Sampson was delighted with the award and praised the Exp team for their hard work and excellent results. “We’re thrilled to be recognised for our work in the sponsorship arena,” he said. “We love what we do and we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished for our clients.”
According to AdReview: “Exp Sponsorship has already achieved significant awareness in the marketplace, so it comes as a surprise to discover it’s only four years old. In 2008 it was listed by AdReview as the country’s best sponsorship company, based on its performance in the sponsorship section of the Marketing Excellence Awards. It followed that with another strong showing in the 2009 awards, picking up another four awards.
Its client list is topped by some of the giants of sponsorship, such as MTN, Absa, and Toyota. During 2008, Exp picked up R18 million of new sponsorship activity from Sasol, FIFA, SA Breweries (Castle) and MTN events.
The Marketing Services award category comprises a variety of different marketing companies, handling anything from promotions to sponsorships and direct marketing to events. Each entrant is evaluated on its own terms, in other words measured for its success in its own category.”
Sandile Ndzekeli, MD of Exp South Africa, believes Exp’s success lies in its dedication to ensuring the brand experiences it creates are relevant to clients’ target audiences and ownable by their brands.
Exp activate the launch of Absa’s second balloon
08 April 2009
Absa has launched a second helium-filled balloon, in the shape of a football, at Maponya Mall in Soweto. Its existing balloon, at Montecasino in Fourways, has been redesigned to match.
If you live in Joburg you will probably have seen the Absa balloon, floating high above Montecasino. You may even have had a flight in it. Now the bank has launched a second balloon in another of the city's major tourist attractions, Maponya Mall in Soweto.
In recognition of the bank's commitment to the beautiful game and in celebration of the football fever that's filling the local air, both balloons have been designed to resemble enormous footballs.
The event was activated with a ‘football’ theme, and included the following elements:
Absa Premiership Tunnel
Bafana Bafana Bus
Soccer ‘Tricksters’
Despite construction delays (and a little bit of wind), the event was successfully activated by Exp.
