EXP is an empowered and award winning Experiential Marketing agency that focuses on delivering engaging consumer experiences.
We ignite brand connections through an integrated approach that focuses on connecting with the consumer. We define experiential marketing as a "live" one-on-one interaction that allows consumers to create an emotional connection with a client's brand.

EXP consists of a various business units, all specializing in specific marketing practices to provide clients with the best possible solution through our 360 degree approach. All services reflect the integration and synergy between strategy, creative, operations and client service of our client's brands. Our approach provides clients with the flexibility of expanding their marketing strategies, contact points and overall enhancing of the brand experience.

EXP has specalized in below-the-line brand activation since 1987, having delivered to international benchmarked service delivery standards, whilst remaining relevant in local markets by being true to its South African heritage.

With offices in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, we are able to offer services throughout South Africa. This service extends to full logistic and warehousing support to meet our clients' requirements across the country. Our professional teams are able to activate across the country, from the most rural of areas to urban centres.

EXP Group have fully owned offices in 17 countries across Africa, working across the borders into other countries, allowing us to activate campaigns for clients who have an African footprint in 22 territories on the continent.

Michael Masson
Creative & Strategy Director
Michael has over 11 years of Through-the-Line industry experience behind him. Has worked a large portfolio of local and international Blue Chip accounts such as Nokia, Heineken, Captain Morgan, Absa Bank, NBA, Mazda, Southern Sun, MTN, P&G, Unilever, Toyota, Citroen and SABM to name a few - with a number of awards to top it all off. His beliefs regarding the relation between strategy and creative is what inspired him to join the EXP team. Since January 2009 Mike has headed up EXP's creative division and has contributed immensely to EXP's award winning success. In 2012, Michael was appointed to EXP Manco, heading up the company's strategic and creative arm.

Michael, along with selected members of the strategy and creative team, attends various local and international industry conferences where he garners insights into sponsorship and marketing trends. Michael recently attended the Chicago Experiential Marketing Summit, and brought back those insights back into EXP as a business. He ensures that the output of the strategic thinking crafted for each of our client campaigns, carry on-trend innovations that position our clients as the thought-leaders and at the forefront in their specific category.

Essentially, Mike and his team develop the BIG IDEAS for strategic campaigns.
Prior to joining EXP SA in 2005 as a shareholder and a member of the Board of Directors to head up the PR Division, she started her career as a Public Relations consultant in 1995 with DiagonalStreet Communications where she first specialized in corporate PR. Over the next decade she honed her skills as a Brand PR specialist, conceptualising and implementing local and international brand, sport and lifestyle campaigns for a range of clients, for which she has won multiple awards, including Marketing Excellence Awards (Silver, Gold and Grand Prix), BMI, Virgin Active Sports Industry Awards and a Loerie Award. In addition to her PR background, her career spans positions which gave her extensive exposure and experience across a range of key marketing disciplines including Publishing, Sponsorship Marketing, Brand Activation and BTL. In 2012 she was appointed Chief Marketing Officer for EXP SA, responsible for the key client service function across the entire business, while her internal function includes building the EXP brand and maintaining the agency’s profile within the industry.
Completed MBA in 2002. COO and Member of the Board of Directors for EXP since 2011. Prior to that was Commercial Executive for the Marc Group, the shareholder company of EXP. Gina specialized in the development of commercial plans and business structures for the group including sports properties, business viability studies and the management of special projects where her skills would be of benefit to the project. Prior to joining Marc Group in 2006, Gina was General Manager at the Sports Science Institute of South Africa, Cape Town.
Sandile crafted his skills in a series of marketing positions, including television production, sales and marketing and sponsorship consulting, before his entrepreneurial spirit steered him to start a business venture, Global Sports Connections with a former business partner in 2003, which subsequently became EXP. Sandile Ndzekeli joined EXP as a director and shareholder in 2004. During his six-year tenure as MD, he left to join FIFA as Head of Marketing for the 2010 FIFA World Cup for one year. In 2011 Sandile was appointed CEO of EXP, and has since increased the profitability of the business by 140% in the space of just 24 months.

He has worked across multiple sporting codes, and to this day, holds long standing working relationships with various stakeholders at the highest level. In the football industry, Sandile established and still maintains extensive relationships - from FIFA all the way to domestic football in South Africa. And while sports marketing accounts for a large portion of EXP's business, under his management Sandile has ensured that the agency regains its position as one of the industry leaders in Experiential Marketing, managing FMCG, brand and consumer campaigns for clients outside of the sports arena.

Under his leadership EXP has become the No 1. specialist and sponsorship agency in the country, and won numerous marketing awards including Specialist Agency of the Year in 2011 and in 2012, Sports Agency of the Year in 2011 and in 2012, along with nine Virgin Active Sport Industry Awards and Loerie Awards, for outstanding management of sponsorships for clients Sasol, Absa and MTN. He is also serving his second term on the judging panel of the Financial Mail Ad Focus Awards.

It is his belief in driving a "Candoism" (Can-Do) philosophy amongst his management team and staff that has become the backbone of EXP's driving force in the industry.

Farhaad started his career in education, as a High School Educator specialising in Economic and Management Sciences while based in Durban, KZN. After a few years in education, he relocated to Gauteng to join the private sector where made a natural progression into the field of finance, after having taught the subjects of commerce for a number of years.

From 2000 he held a series of Assistant Financial Manager positions, including that at Internet Solutions, World online and at Sasco Africa over a period of six years. In 2006 Farhaad then joined the MARC Group Ltd, the holding company under which EXP is housed. As the Financial Manager he was part of the core finance team that provided financial support to the holding company and three of its subsidiaries. His expertise in the business ranged from Financial operations and project management, budgeting, forecasting, finance project accounting, supplier management, including contracting, negotiating and procurement procedures, as well as group travel policies and procedures. But it is the efficiencies and finance system enhancements that he counts amongst his key contributions to the holding company.

Farhaad joined EXP in May 2013; he joined EXP and shortly thereafter was appointed as Head of Finance. His key motivational driver: "I thrive on innovation that encompasses efficiency and simplicity while still maintaining world class financial controls."
Teresa has enjoyed a long and fruitful career at EXP spanning two decades. She started working at EXP in 1991 as the PA to the former company CEO, a position which she held for 7 years. She then attended the UNISA School of Business Leadership to study towards a Labour Law HR qualification, where she graduated with a student of the year distinction. Teresa has since headed up the HR function in its entirety for EXP since 2000, and remains responsible for recruitment, payroll and taxes, policies and procedures, skills development and training, staff wellness programmes, employment equity and BEE, and all related labour legislature adherence.
Having worked as an operations specialist in the sponsorship industry for more than a decade, Tim has a proven career track record of lowering capital expenditure of existing systems, providing solutions & implementing strategic organisational upgrades. He is ultimately responsible for adhering to a wide-range of business operations; finance and administration, preferred supplier management, branding, procurement, event activation, logistics and budget, client service and research. He has extensive experience working with numerous top SA brands.
After completing a BCom degree, Jonathan started his career at EXP in 2005, working as an account manager on the Absa Portfolio. During this time he won various Marketing Excellence (Silver & Gold) and Expert Awards. With the growth of the business, Jonathan became Operations Director on the Absa Account, managing the operations and logistics for all Absa sponsorship properties. With his 7 years' experience in the industry, his operations skills became integral to the business and he was appointed as HOD Operations, overseeing the sponsorship, procurement, fleet and warehouse management of EXP South Africa.

Business Director
Minize has 13 years of knowledge and experience in Brands and Brand building, having previously worked as a Brand Consultant within the Group Marketing department at Absa, prior to joining EXP. Minize joined EXP in 2009 as Account Director on the Arts, Culture and Lifestyle portfolio on the Absa Account at EXP. Shortly thereafter she was promoted to Business Director on the Absa Account, which she managed until April 2011.

Being passionate about strategy and implementation, Minize was then appointed as Business Director of EXP's Activation and Eventing business unit. This team manages below-the-line brand activation and eventing campaigns for a wide range of consumer brands including SAB Miller brands, Nestlé, SC Johnson, Yellow Pages and a variety of ad hoc brands. EXP's Activation and Eventing business prides itself in providing ALIVE, one-on-one interactions, that allows consumers to create an emotional connection with clients brands.
Mark is currently the Head of Strategy at EXP and as such works across all client accounts. His strengths lie in the conceptualisation of strategic direction and campaign creation, all founded on an in-depth understanding of our client's business as well as their specific objectives.He previously managed some of the country's largest rugby sponsorships working closely with rights holders and specific property owners. In his former position he led the agency team on Sasol's sponsorship of the Springboks and Springbok 7's team and then took over the Absa sponsorship of these same teams when they became official team sponsor. With this background Mark was able to work on all aspects of Sponsorship Marketing from concept development, stakeholder engagement, operational implementation, strategic management of sponsorship and client relationships.

His input at EXP ranges from an understanding of the markets in which our clients operate to their specific objectives and strategic reasoning for entering sponsorships or wanting to execute specific brand activation campaigns. This enables the creation of strategically sounds campaign concepts and leveraging tactics that talk to the brief. His attendance of international conferences centred on Experiential Marketing allows him to bring best-practice methods, trends and insights to these concepts. He is responsible for developing and overseeing the strategic alignment of campaign tactics to client objectives across all EXP clients.
With at least 16 years of experiences in the communications industry, Natali Dukhi has worked for companies such as TBWA Hunt Lascaris, Text 100, 8 Seconds: Brand and Design, Enterprise IG and The Brand Union to name a few. She has managed Client projects both in South Africa and across Africa, specifically focusing on West Africa. She has built up a vast portfolio experience over the years - such Microsoft SA, MTN, Coca Cola, ABSA, South African Airways, Adcock Ingram, Reckitt Benckiser, SAB to name a few.

Natali joined EXP in 2012, appointed as Senior Business Director managing the MTN Account, which she did for the duration of 2012. At the beginning of 2013, Natali was appointed as Senior Business Director: Business Strategy responsible for the organic growth the agency, identifying new business opportunities.
Following her passion for football, a PR and sports management graduate, Lizzy started as an intern at SuperSport United F.C. She was promoted to Marketing and PR coordinator in 2003 and subsequently Marketing manager in 2005. In 2009 she joined PR Agency Fleishman Hillard as Snr Account Manager - Nike Football, arranging events like product and kit launches for the likes of Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, some of SA’s biggest teams.

Leading up to the 2010 World Cup, Lizzy joined EXP as Account Director football to work on Absa Premiership and Bafana Bafana. She later became Business Director and looked after other properties in Absa sponsorships, including cycling and lifestyle properties. In January 2013, Lizzy was promoted to head up all MTN sponsorships, including football, golf, rugby, cycling, music and lifestyle. She offers strategic direction to the team, as well as on the ground activations when needed.

Jason has over 15 years' experience in the events and entertainment industry. After studying Marketing Management at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and prior to entering the sponsorship realm in 2006, his career focus was the entertainment and live events industry where he worked in the areas of production and later artist management. As an artist manager he managed the career of well know comedian Marc Lottering for four years where he was instrumental in producing numerous sold-out national and international tours, and managing all merchandising and bookings for this artist.

2006 saw Jason join EXP as a sponsorship Operations Manager where he managed the budgeting and operational implementation of activations across an array of accounts, with the support of an operations team of six staff. Jason then went on to join the Sony FIFA World Cup team in 2007 where he was a key member of the team developing and implementing Sony's sponsorship strategy of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Following this assignment he joined Sail where he was the head of their Stadium Commercialisation division.

Jason returned to EXP at the beginning of 2013 as Business Director, heading up the Absa account.
Marika started her career in 2002 where she worked at Venter de Jager Inc as a financial clerk whilst studying towards her B.Com Accounting Degree through UNISA, finishing her Articles. After her studies she worked as a Financial Manager at Thungela Acrylics & Polymers cc for 8 years, before joining EXP as Project Cost Accountant in 2011.

As EXP Finance Business Director, her responsibilities include managing all Project budgets, ensuring that all costs incurred are within the overall budget, reconciling projects and reporting back to clients. Marika is currently in the process of completing her CIMA Degree.
Justin has over 18 years experience in the marketing industry having held various marketing positions over the past two decades. His first job was a sales & marketing position for an insurance brokerage firm in East London, before moving to London in the UK, where he worked for four years in various marketing positions including an Area Manager position with T-Mobile and Operations Manager for a gym chain, LA Fitness. He then moved to Australia to study, where qualified with an IMM degree, before returning to South Africa where he then started specialised in the eventing industry at both an operations and project management level. He has successfully managed events on a national basis and worked closely with a variety of companies to market and launch new products into the market place. Companies include SAB and Distell as well as securing major sponsors for events such as Mercedes Benz, Telkom, The Thales Group, SAMSA to name but a few. Justin joined EXP in 2011 and was appointed as General Manager running the operations of EXP's Cape Town Office.
With 10 years experience in the marketing field, Bongani has worked for top motor brands such as General Motors and Peugeot as a Business Manager in both organisations responsible for Sales, Marketing and After-Sales. He joined FIFA in 2007 as a Rights Protection Programme Manager for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and worked at the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup before joining EXP. Agency in April 2009 to head up the Sasol Account managing the sponsorship of both Banyana Banyana and the Sasol Woman's League. Bongani has also been appointed as the interim Business Director, managing the day to day functions of EXP's PR Department.
